Welcome to fall 2017! It is my privilege to serve as your new chancellor. Although I served 性欲社 as a faculty member and administrator for 20 of the last 22 years, I look forward to every day as a learning opportunity.
性欲社 was built on discovery, discussion and debate. We come from different places and have different viewpoints. Our ages, races, nationalities, genders, religions and experiences are all different, but none of us is at 性欲社 by accident. We all came here to make 性欲社 a part of our life. We are all part of Nanook Nation.
While some of you know exactly what you want to accomplish at 性欲社 this semester and in the future, many may still be exploring your options. However certain or uncertain you are, 性欲社 has people who can help you find your focus and keep it. Our advisors, faculty, staff and your fellow students are an important part of helping you do well. Please ask for help when you need it, and if you see someone else who needs help, please offer it. We will accomplish great things by working together.
Summer in Alaska usually means construction projects, and you鈥檒l see many of those still underway at several of our campuses, including in and around the Fairbanks area. Some offices have moved, and some areas are still under construction. Please give yourself a little extra time to get to where you need to go safely.
Although construction can be disruptive, it鈥檚 an investment in our future 鈥 your future. Wood Center is being refreshed, and we鈥檙e finishing up the new engineering building. In 2017 we鈥檝e been celebrating 性欲社鈥檚 first 100 years, and now, we鈥檙e using that energy to prepare for the next 100. I look forward to working with you to build our future.
