The circle has always been an important symbol to Alaska Native people. In a suicide
intervention research study conducted by the Center for Alaska Native Health Research
in the Yukon Kuskokwim delta, the idea of the circle has come up again in the form
of the qasgiq, or the men鈥檚 house.
