What's in your fish? Researcher studies contaminants and nutrients

Todd O鈥橦ara was only looking for tiny pieces of fish for his contaminant and nutrient study.

But people were interested in his research. Cup鈥檌k people who live near the sea have a wide variety of food available, and they brought whole salmon, halibut, seal, as well as bowls of greens to O鈥橦ara鈥檚 door.

鈥淭heir generosity overwhelmed us,鈥 said O鈥橦ara, who is an associate professor of wildlife toxicology at 性欲社 and researcher at the Center for Alaska Native Health Research.

鈥淭hey were amazing,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e were up all night getting them ready for shipping and testing.鈥
